About Wag Nation

The Back Story

Tallia was a part-time employee at Wag Nation for four years, leading up to ownership. Her mother Alda and herself were thrilled to take over the store as the permanent owners in September 2018.

She had spoken often with her mother about going into business together, so when this opportunity to work alongside each other in an industry they had firsthand knowledge about, they took the leap.
After only 2 years under their belt, the family has been able to relocate and expand their business into the grooming arena. Visitors can now find them just a few steps away on historic Bellevue Avenue, in the Bellevue Gardens Shopping Center.
Helping the mother-daughter duo to keep the pet treats in supply are Tallia’s husband Alex, her stepfather John, brother Gianni, along with a team of part-time and full-time rockstars!

The New Look

The logo that customers now see when they shop at Wag Nation was inspired by our family dog, a Boston Terrier, named Zoe.  She lived to be 14 and brought so much joy and happiness to the family over the years. The new tagline “where pets lead the way,” goes hand in hand with our belief system. We treat animals like the family members they are. Even more than that, we want customers to feel like they’re part of the family too.

Continuing to Serve

When we took over Wag Nation, one of our main goals was to become more involved in the community and continue developing partnerships.  We often support other local businesses, through strategic partners, social media postings, event sponsorships, and donations. 

We have implemented free learning seminars, which we fondly refer to as “Munch n’ Learns”.  During these seminars, we cover all sorts of subjects, from food brand overviews to being more mindful of our animal companions.  A knowledgeable guest speaker is always invited to cover the topic.  It’s an opportunity for everyone, including the Wag Nation team to learn a lot and is always a great time.
